What is a mini-facelift?

The mini-facelift is also called the S-lift, and it makes your cheeks look younger. With a mini-facelift, only the sagging skin on your cheeks and under the jaw line is treated. Your forehead and neck are left alone. The mini facelift is a popular treatment because the procedure is far less drastic than the classic facelift.

Are you interested in a mini-facelift? Then make an appointment with Dr Schiettecatte for a no-obligation consultation in Clinic Veldhoven.

The consultation and a quotation

Dr Schiettecatte is your treating plastic surgeon in Clinic Veldhoven. Prior to the facelift, you have a personal intake interview with Dr Schiettecatte to discuss your wishes and the options. You discuss together the desired changes in your face, the way in which the facelift will be performed and the course of the operation. On the day of the consultation, you also bring along photos of what you like. Dr Schiettecatte will gladly discuss the possibilities with you. Contact us to schedule your no-obligation consultation. After the consultation, you will receive a tailor-made quotation.

The mini-facelift operation

With the mini-facelift, Dr Schiettecatte removes a small strip of skin in the shape of an S, on both sides of your face, in front of your ear. The surgery takes place under local anaesthesia. This procedure has a lifting effect on a relatively smaller part of your face (compared with a classic facelift). On the other hand, you recover more quickly from this operation. Dr Schiettecatte performs the mini-lift under local anaesthesia.

Risks and complications with a mini-facelift

During the first consultation we will discuss the risks that are most relevant for you. The skin can temporarily feel strange and numb after the procedure. There is also a small chance of bleeding, an infection and impaired wound healing. In rare cases, scar hypertrophy occurs. Very rarely, some facial muscles lose function due to nerve damage. This usually recovers gradually. The risks are considerably smaller if you do not smoke or temporarily stop smoking.

Aftercare with a mini-facelift

After the procedure, your face is ruddy and swollen. Immediately after the treatment, you receive a pressure bandage, to limit the swelling. When you then come for a check-up, we remove the pressure bandage, wash your hair, and you will be fitted with a pressure mask. You wear this pressure mask for one week. Shortly after the procedure, the scars are clearly visible; these gradually fade. After six weeks, your skin is completely recovered, and you can begin to hydrate and massage the scars with a moisturizer.

Super happy!

“Years went by before I dared to take this step. I am rather anxious, and thanks to the good care of the assistant and Dr Schiettecatte, I was quickly (for me) at ease. The service before but also afterwards has given me a good feeling. Dr Schiettecatte is a kind and skilled plastic surgeon who was very nice, and my eyes were almost not swollen or blackened…! Super happy! Really recommend him and clinic Veldhoven!”

Very good experience!

“Last Tuesday, I had my breast augmentation done by Dr Schiettecatte with Diane Gabriels. I had a B85 cup, and now I have a nice D cup! I am so happy with it. Dr Schiettecatte is a very kind and relaxed man. Instead of drop-shaped implants, he advised me to take 500 MPP. At first, I thought it would be too big for me, but I trusted that he knows what he is doing. I have not regretted it for a moment since the operation was done! Also the co-assistant and anaesthetist (David in particular) are very nice people. In short, had a very good experience with this clinic!”
