What is a forehead lift?
If your eyebrows sag or are lowered, that may make you look tired or worried. The forehead lift is a good solution for lifting your eyebrows and the forehead skin so that it looks more toned again. The procedure is regularly combined with an upper eyelid correction or a lower eyelid correction. With this combination, you regain an energetic, fresh and ‘open’ appearance.

The forehead lift operation
There are several techniques for a forehead lift. Dr Schiettecatte uses all these techniques, although the endoscopic forehead lift with endotine and the Fogli eyebrow lift are his favourites. In combination with a correction of the upper eyelid, you get the most beautiful result.
Endoscopic or endotine forehead lift
With the endoscopic forehead lift (also called the endotine forehead lift) the skin of the forehead, the eyebrows and the forehead muscle under the skin are loosened from the bone and moved upwards. To this end, small cuts are made above the hairline, to allow the surgical devices to be inserted under the skin. The skin of the forehead, forehead muscle and eyebrows are then lifted as one whole. The hairline shifts minimally upwards. Special clips (endotine) are applied under the skin, which dissolve naturally within about a year. After that time, the skin itself stays in position. The scars with the endoscopic forehead lift are small and concealed in the hair. This procedure takes place under general anaesthesia.
Temporal forehead lift or eyebrow lift according to Fogli
Dr Alain Fogli was the plastic surgeon who developed the Fogli lift in 2003. With this temporal forehead lift or eyebrow lift under local anaesthetic, the forehead skin is lifted and the eyebrows are brought into the desired position. Then the excess skin is removed and the underlayer anchored with sutures.
Risks and complications with a forehead lift
Possible complications with a forehead lift may include: bleeding, infection, scar problems and temporary loss of nerve function. All these complications occur extremely rarely.

Immediately after the procedure, you receive a pressure bandage that you have to wear for one night.
