Chin correction

Your chin defines your face. A chin operation by a plastic surgeon can improve the balance in your face. A correction of your lower chin can also simultaneously soften the impression of a large nose. Dr Schiettecatte works with chin implants to correct your receding or underdeveloped chin. These consist of solid silicone. Prior to the operation, you choose the correct shape and size together with the doctor. Request a consultation now.

The consultation and a quotation

Dr Schiettecatte is your treating plastic surgeon in Clinic Veldhoven and CosMed Clinic. Prior to the chin correction, you have a personal intake interview with Dr Schiettecatte to discuss your wishes and the options. Here you discuss together the desired changes and the course of the operation. On the day of the consultation, you also bring along photos of what you like. Dr Schiettecatte will gladly discuss the possibilities with you. Contact us to schedule your no-obligation consultation. After the consultation, you will receive a tailor-made quotation.

The operation: the chin correction

A chin correction is a short operation under local anaesthesia. Dr Schiettecatte makes an incision on the underside of your chin, or an incision in your mouth. The implant is then placed under the chin muscles and the bone membrane of your jaw. The operation is completed by suturing the incision. A compress is also applied with a chin strap, which holds the implant in place.

With an incision in the mouth, you do not have a scar, but there is more chance of an infection.

After the operation on your chin

After the surgery, you wear the chin strap with the compress for 24 hours. Then you cover the chin for about a week with a bandage. After removal of the bandage, you may experience bruising and swelling, which will have largely disappeared after about two weeks. The result of the operation is immediately visible; the final result is assessed after three months.

Risks and complications with chin corrections

With a chin correction, there is a risk of infection, bleeding afterward and the loss of feeling in the chin. The implant can also shift, although this rarely happens.

Super happy!

“Years went by before I dared to take this step. I am rather anxious, and thanks to the good care of the assistant and Dr Schiettecatte, I was quickly (for me) at ease. The service before but also afterwards has given me a good feeling. Dr Schiettecatte is a kind and skilled plastic surgeon who was very nice, and my eyes were almost not swollen or blackened…! Super happy! Really recommend him and clinic Veldhoven!”

Very good experience!

“Last Tuesday, I had my breast augmentation done by Dr Schiettecatte with Diane Gabriels. I had a B85 cup, and now I have a nice D cup! I am so happy with it. Dr Schiettecatte is a very kind and relaxed man. Instead of drop-shaped implants, he advised me to take 500 MPP. At first, I thought it would be too big for me, but I trusted that he knows what he is doing. I have not regretted it for a moment since the operation was done! Also the co-assistant and anaesthetist (David in particular) are very nice people. In short, had a very good experience with this clinic!”
